New Delhi: The devastating Hurricane Matthew is battering Florida coast with a wind speed of up to 120 mph causing serious rainfall and floods.

Charleston has witnessed tides as high as 9.29 feet on Early Saturday which is almost five feet above the normal.

On October 7, the European Space Agency's (ESA) Corpernicus Sentinel-3A satellite captured the initial stages of Metthew in an infrared view from the space as it was approaching to the eastern coast of Florida. At the time, Matthew was monstrous, measuring 248 miles (400 kilometers) across and located 124 miles (200 km) from Miami Beach, according to the Space.com.

To make this remarkable observation, the satellite used its sea and land temperature radiometer.
