Melbourne: There were no surprises in Melbourne on Tuesday as Australia romped home to a 177-run win over the West Indies.

The Aussies took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-Test series to retain Frank Worrell Trophy.

Propelled by tons from Usman Khawaja, Joe Burns and Adam Voges, the home side declared at a mammoth 551/3 in the first innings.

James Pattinson and Nathan Lyon picked up four wickets each to bundle the visitors out for 271.

With a lead of 280, Steve Smith's side declared after having scored 179/3 in the second innings.

In reply, the Windies failed to put up any resistance as they were bowled out for 282.

Jason Holder top scored for his side with 58.

The home side won the first Test in Hobart by an innings and 212 runs.

The final Test of the three-match series will start in Sydney on Sunday.
