New Delhi: While a four-figure score in any form of cricket is unimaginable, Mumbai cricketer Pranav Dhanawade reached the milestone with a record-shattering 1009-run knock in an inter-school tournament organised by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).
The 15-year-old, who is the son of an auto-rickshaw driver, proved his ability to bat for long with his marathon knock.
Dhanawade accumulated mammoth 1009 runs off 327 balls, which included 129 fours and 59 sixes. His innings lasted for 396 minutes and the scorecard reveals what a forgettable day it was for the bowlers.
None of the bowlers could restrain Pranav from scoring runs freely, as the opposition tried as many as eight bowlers to stop his run-scoring spree. While Ayush Dubey conceded 352 runs from 23 overs, Tejas Misar leaked 142 runs from just six overs.
Pranav’s team – KC Gandhi School scored mammoth 1465 in response to Arya Gurukul’s paltry 31 in their first innings. Trailing by 1434 runs in their second innings, Arya Gurukul were bowled out for mere 52 runs, as a result of which Pranav's team won by an innings and 1382 runs.
