Bangladesh vs New Zealand: Most bowleds in T20I match as stumps flew in Eden Gardens

New Delhi: It's a rare sight to witness bowlers dominating in the fast lanes of Twenty20 cricket. But on Saturday at the historic Eden Gardens, bowlers toyed with batsmen to record most bowleds in the history of T20 cricket.

The match between Group 2 table toppers and minnows Bangladesh witnessed as many as ten bowleds. The previous record was eight, in four instances.

Batting first New Zealand posted 145 runs with the loss of eight wickets, with skipper Kane Williamson top-scoring with 42 runs off 32 balls.

However, it was Bangladesh's young pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman who stole the show in the first part of the play. The 20-year-old left-arm paceman scalped five wickets.

Coming to the record, the innings had six bowleds, four of those to Rahman, whose figures read: 4-0-22-5.

Bangladesh's chase started in a precarious mode, losing explosive Tamim Iqbal in the second over, thanks to a run out. But like the Kiwi innings, stumps flew as bowlers continue to hit the bull's eye in Kolkata.

Four Kiwi batsmen were bowled in the second innings, to make it a grand total of 10. The record.

New Zealand beat Bangladesh by 75 runs to carry their unbeaten streak in the semi-finals of 2016 ICC World Twenty20. The Tigers, however, failed to win a single match in the Super 10 stage, and have already exited the tournament.
