India vs South Africa 2015: HC rejects PIL seeking stay on 2nd ODI in Indore

Madhya Pradesh High Court's Indore bench refused to stay the 2nd ODI between India and South Africa.

New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh High Court's Indore bench on Monday refused to stay the 2nd ODI between India and South Africa, as it rejected the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Indore High Court Bar Association challenging it, reports Times of India.

It's a big relief for Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) as the 2nd match is scheduled to take place on October 14 in Holkar Cricket Stadium.

The two-member bench felt that all the preparation was done and it would not be appropriate to make any intervention in conduct of match at this point of time.

Secretary of bar association Anil Ojha said they have objected to the tax rebate granted by state government to MPCA. "Court has directed us to make commercial tax department a party in the matter," said Ojha adding that MPCA is not a welfare organisation and tax rebate is not going to help people.

After a wait of four long years Indore is set to host an ODI match.

Visitors South Africa are leading 1-0 in the five-match ODI series. It means, 2nd ODI is going to be a crucial match for the home team.
