Indo-Pak series: Have extended deadline for BCCI, says PCB chief Shaharyar Khan

New Delhi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Shaharyar Khan informed on Monday that they has extended the deadline for Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) 'till tonight' to take a final call on proposed bilateral series between India and Pakistan.

Talking to the Pakistan media in Lahore, Khan said the series was still not officially called off.

"I have asked (England and Wales Cricket Board president) Giles Clarke to bring an answer from India. He is going to call me in the evening to tell me the final reply from the Indians," he said.

"The PCB only wants that cricket be played between the two countries and we are making every effort in this regard," Shaharyar added.

The 81-year-old made PCB's stance clear on the issue and put the ball on BCCI's court by saying that: "We have taken our decision. We want to play against India. It is their decision now."

Interestingly, on Sunday, Khan had publicly gave up hopes on the much-anticipated series between the arch-rivals.
