'Unreachable' speedster Ishant Sharma left out of Delhi Ranji squad

New Delhi: Spearhead of Indian bowling line-up Ishant Sharma has been dropped from Delhi Ranji Trophy squad as the pacer didn't answer the selectors call and text, according to a media report.

While taking to ESPNcricinfo, Vinay Lamba the chairman of selectors for Delhi confirmed the news.

Lamba stated: "He (Ishant) didn't answer our call nor responded to my text.”

In fact, when Cricinfo asked Lamba if Ishant had expressed his unwillingness to play, Lamba added, "He is our senior bowler, how can we say that about him? But we tried to get in touch with him yesterday, but he didn't respond. I left a text, but didn't get a reply."

Further reports state that Delhi all-rounder and veteran cricketer Rajat Bhatia, has also been ignored by the selectors as Gautam Gambhir will lead the side.

The upcoming Ranji season is scheduled to start from October 1 2015.
