New Delhi: As France and Portugal head into he final of UEFA Euro 2016, we formulate the 'Best XI' from the two teams vying for the crown of European champions.
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris, France
The Tottenham Hotspur stopper has been a consistent performer between the goal post and made decisive saves against Germany to earn his team a spot in the final.
Right-back: Bacary Sagna, France
Virtually untouchable, Sagna has done his defensive work really well and has also pitched in with assists. Hard to believe that the Manchester City man turns 34 next year.
Left-back: Raphael Guerreiro, Portugal
Ahead of France's Patrice Evra, Guerreiro has a inserted a much needed energy and the otherwise inconsistent Portuguese back-4. The 22-year-old's, high-energy style has been the prime reason behind the 4-starts he earned in the past month.
Centre-back: Pepe, Portugal
Known for his dirty work, Pepe has stood out for his defensive work in the Euros. Since his up turn in form, Portugal has barely looked like conceding goals.
Centre-back: Laurent Koscielny, France
At the age of 30, Koscielny is very much a senior player in the side now and is leading by example from the back. His sense of danger and technical ability has also boosted fellow centre-back Samuel Umiti's confidence.
Central midfield: Paul Pogba, France
Though the Juventus man started the tournament with below-par performance, his confident presence in midfeild since the knock-outs has provided France an unmatched attacking and defensive balance.
Central midfield: Renato Sanches, Portugal
Just 18-year-old, Sanches impact has been eye-catching. His technical ability, pace and trickery has added an extra gear. His contribution has been immense in Portugal's run to the finals
Attacking midfield: Dimitri Payet, France
Though quiet in the semifinal win, Payet has been one of best performers for France. While Antoine Griezmann was quiet, it was the West Ham man winning matches single handedly for the hosts.
Left wing: Nani, Portugal
Given a new role of partnering Cristiano Ronaldo in attack, Nani has blossomed and has pitched in with goals on a regular basis. His form will be key if Portugal are to beat France to the title.
Right wing: Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal
Not the best tournament for Cristiano Ronaldo so far in terms of personal achievements, but the Real Madrid man has scored in the most crucial times and will be his team's linchpin in the final
Centre forward: Antoine Griezmann, France
With his performances thus far, Griezmann would easily make most people's current world XI. He has been the reason why France chose to leave out a striker of the stature of Karim Benzema and it seems they have barely missed him.
