Tamil Nadu 12th result 2016

During the academic session 2015-2016, about 8,82,860 students appeared for the HSC exams 2016. The overall pass percentage was 90.6 percent. The pass percentage for boys was 87.05 perecnt while for girls it was 93.04 percent.

About Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education (TNBSE):

The Government of Tamil Nadu constituted a new Board for School Examination viz “State Board of School Examinations” by merging the two separate boards - Board of Secondary Education and Board of Higher Secondary Examinations dated 16.02.2011.

The Directorate of Government Examinations was formed as a separate directorate in February 1975. Prior to the formation of Directorate Of Government Examinations, the then DPI/DSE was the ex-officio commissioner for government exams and the department was having its office at Madras only.

This directorate has 7 Regional offices at Madurai, Coimbatore, Tiruchirappalli, Tirunelveli , Chennai, Cuddalore and Vellore.

Apart from the academic stream examination in academic fields, this department is conducting various vocational stream examinations.

At present this department in conducting exams for about 25 lakh students every year.
