TRS leader violently assaults wife for questioning his marriage to another woman

HYDERABAD: A video of Telangana Rashtra Samithi or TRS youth leader Pulakandla Srinivas Reddy mercilessly beating and dragging his wife in public view has emerged on social media.

According to reports, Sangeetha went to Reddy's house on Sunday along with the couple's two-year-old daughter and other family members to confront about his alleged marriage to another woman.

Sangeetha, Reddy's second wife, had recently given birth to a girl – the couple' second child. 

After she raised questions about his third marriage, Reddy started hitting her violently. Those present in the scene, as seen in the video, try to stop the beating but the politician dragged her on the floor in an attempt to push her of the house.

Sangeetha claims that Reddy and his family harassed her giving birth to a girl child and have been trying to evict her from home. She further alleged that TRS leader's family have been torturing her over dowry for months, treating her like a servant. 

In June, she lodged a complaint against Reddy and his family for physical and mental harassment. 

The couple got married in 2013. Sangeetha alleges that Reddy married another woman without divorcing her 

The TRS leader has been booked under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, said police.
