Only BJP can give 'goonda mukt sarkar' in Uttar Pradesh: Amit Shah at Shahjahanpur rally

Shahjahanpur: Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah on Saturday attacked the ruling Samajwadi Party saying only BJP can give a 'goonda mukt sarkar' in Uttar Pradesh.

Shah, who was addressing a Parivartan rally in Shahjahanpur district, mocked at state Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and senior Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Yadav, saying "the uncle and nephew should stop the drama being played over Mukhtar Ansari's Quami Ekta Dal's (QED) merger with the SP."

Taking pot shots at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister over reports of his party looking for an alliance with Congress party ahead of Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, Shah said, "he (Akhilesh Yadav) wants to have an alliance with Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, who doesn't know that potatoes are grown in farm lands and not in factories.

He also hit out at Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati and said that "if a list of most corrupt people is prepared, then the BSP supremo would feature at the top."

Coming down hard at Gandhi, the BJP leader said "in its ten year rule, the Congress only indulged in corruption and huge scams, whereas there is no graft charge against the incumbent Narendra Modi-led government."

Shah also spoke on the issue of triple talaq and said "all the parties, be it Congress, BSP or SP, all are mum on the issue."

Calling for an abolition of triple talaq, he urged the electorate to question the political parties on their stand on the rights of Muslim women.
