Start by marinating the chicken with a mixture of yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric and pickle masala.

If you want to prepare homemade achaar masala then in a bowl mix mustard oil, roasted fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and a bit of garam masala.

Heat oil in a pan and sauté finely chopped onions until golden brown. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until soft.

Add the marinated chicken to the pan with the onion-tomato base. Cook the chicken on medium heat for about 10-15 minutes.

5.)

Once the chicken is cooked, add your prepared achar masala or you can also add the store made achaar to the pan. Stir well and let the chicken simmer for another 5-10 minutes.

6.)

Add water and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.

7.)

Garnish your achaari chicken with freshly chopped coriander and serve hot with paratha or rice.
