Onam 2024: How to make tasty Palada payasam at home in 20 minutes

Step 1

Assemble 1 cup rice flakes (palada), 1 cup milk, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup shredded coconut, and cardamom leaves.

Step 2

Simmer one cup of palada in two cups of water in a skillet for five minutes or until tender.

Step 3

One cup of milk should be heated to a simmer in another pan.

Step 4

When the milk is simmering, add the prepared palada. For five minutes, stir and cook.

Step 5

Stir in 1/4 cup shredded coconut and 1/2 cup sugar. Cook for an additional five minutes.

Step 6

Add a few of crushed cardamom pods to the mixture to give it a fragrant touch.

Step 7

To serve, let the payasam cool somewhat. Savor it warm or cold.
