New Delhi: Truly, love's in the air as February 14 approaches and what would love-birds not do to celebrate Valentine's Day, the day of love.
From flowers to gifts of a variety to movies to dinners, Romeos will go all the way to make their Juliets feel special. But one would need money to make all these things happen. Right?
Exactly! And that is what this Romeo just did. He applied for a loan to celebrate Valentine's Day.
According to report in Times of India, 25-year-old Digvijay Singh, a probationary officer with the State Bank of India in Gujarat applied for a Rs 42, 970 as festival advance. But alas! The loan was rejected.
"I did not apply for a loan to get publicity. I don't want to say anything on it," Digvijay was quoted by the news daily as saying.
Posted in Chuda branch in Junagadh district of Gujarat, he had earlier applied loan to celebrate Vasant Panchami and was granted.
As per report, SBI allows one month salary in advance as interest free loan to employees to celebrate festivals.
This loan can be repaid in in 10 installments.
However, for this Romeo, the bank rejected the loan stating Valentine's Day is not a valid festival to grant a loan.
