New Delhi: Gautam Gambhir once again reminded everyone he is not done yet. The Delhi skipper produced a scintillating knock of 147 runs off 232 balls on the second day of their Ranji Trophy match against Odisha at Chandigarh on Friday.

After bowling Odisha out for 237, Delhi have taken a lead of 114 runs at the end of second day's play. In the process, the skipper also surpassed 14,000 runs in First-class cricket.

His century knock was the highlight of the day as other Delhi batsmen failed to stick with Gambhir. The skipper's 39th first-class ton was laced with 18 fours.

Gambhir's knock came after a flop show against Karnataka last week in their first Ranji match of the season.

The 35-year-old made a triumphant return to the national team with a good looking second innings 50-run knock against New Zealand in the third and final Test match in Nagpur.

Playing in his first Test match after two years absence, the Delhi batsman retired hurt on Day 3, but came back to the crease after the dismissal of Murali Vijay.

He scored 29 runs in the first innings. India won the Test by 321 runs to complete a series whitewash.

Gambhir's return to the national side was in a way felicitated by injuries to India openers Lokesh Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan.

Before that, Gambhir last played for India in a Test match against England in 2014, and has been out of India reckoning.

The left-handed batsman will be one of the openers in contention, as India continue the long home season with series against England, next month.
