Hyderabad: A one-and-half-year-old child named Shrijay suffers from a rare liver disorder and his parents are seeking help to raise Rs 25 lakh through a crowd funding platform, for transplant.

The parents have raised Rs 11.8 lakh so far through Impact Guru in nearly a month and have requested to people donate generously to save his life.

The infant was diagnosed with Glycogen Storage disease, which prevented his growth.

Shirjay was repeatedly admitted to hospital over last 13 months. Currently, he is in a critical condition and is in ICU due to acute metabolic acidosis and the connected ailments, the parents said on the crowd funding platform

A panel of expert doctors at a private hospital here concluded that liver transplantation is the last resort to save Shrijay's life and this cannot be delayed due to his condition.

Shirjay's father B Jagan Mohan Rao said,"Tests before surgery and the cost of transplantation and medicines after surgery are estimated to cost over Rs 25 lakh. Even after that child has to be on immunosuppressants lifelong which are again costly."
