Bypoll results: BJP wins in Muzaffarnagar, Congress in Deoband; SP suffers setback

The Bharatiya Janata Party wrested the Muzaffarnagar seat from the ruling Samajwadi Party, which also lost the Deoband seat to the Congress.

• BJP candidate Narayan Tripathi is leading by 10,892 votes over his nearest Congress rival Manish Patel in Maihar Assembly by-poll in Madhya Pradesh's Satna district, the counting for which is underway.
• BJP wins in Deodurg (Karnataka).
• Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Kapil Dev Agrawal wins by-election in Uttar Pradesh​'s Muzaffarnagar district.
• Ruling CPI-M wins the Birganj Assembly by-election in Tripura's Gomati district, with party candidate Parimal Debnath trouncing his nearest rival BJP candidate by a margin of 10,597 votes.
• Samajwadi Party's Anand Sen Yadav wins Bikapur (Faizabad) seat.
• Harlakhi (Bihar) by-election counting: NDA candidate wins by around 18,000 votes.
• Congress candidate Mavia Ali wins Deoband (Uttar Pradeh) by-election by 3,400 votes.
• Shiv Sena candidate Amit Ghoda wins Palghar (Maharashtra) ​bypoll, defeating Congress nominee Rajendra Gavit by around 19,000 votes.
• Ruling Shiromani Akali Dal wins the by-poll to Khadoor Sahib Assembly seat, with party candidate Ravinder Singh Brahmpura defeating his nearest rival Independent candidate Bhupinder Singh by a margin of 65,664 votes.
• Ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) bags Narayankhed Assembly seat as its candidate Bhupal Reddy wins with a margin of 53,625 votes.
• The BJP is leading in both Muzaffarnagar and Deoband Assembly seats.
• Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Ravinder Singh Brahmpura is leading by over 54,000 votes after 13 rounds of counting in the Khadoor Sahib Assembly by-election in Punjab.
• TRS candidate M Bhupal Reddy is leading by more than 38,000 votes at the end of 14th round of counting, say Election Commission officials.
• Counting is underway for Amarpur Assembly constituency in Tripura.
• Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh) by-poll counting: Samajwadi Party candidate is leading by more than 10,000 votes.
• Maihar (Madhya Pradesh) by-poll counting: BJP's Narayan Tripathi is leading by 2,452 votes after third round.
• Narayankhed (Telangana) by-poll counting: Ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) candidate establishes an early lead. TRS candidate M Bhupal Reddy was leading by over 7,000 votes at the end of the third round of counting, Election Commission officials said.
• Palghar (Maharashtra) by-poll counting: Shiv Sena candidate Amit Ghoda is in lead after eighth round
• Hebbal (Karnataka) by-poll counting: BJP candidate YA Narayanaswamy has secured a good lead. He is ahead by 12,063 votes.
• Maihar (Madhya Pradesh) by-poll counting: BJP's Narayan Tripathi is now ahead of Congress' Manish Patel by 2,278 votes.
• Counting of Harlakhi (Bihar) by-poll: RLSP candidate Sudhanshu Shekhar is leading by 7,300 votes after fifth round.
• Deodurga (Karnataka) by-poll counting: BJP candidate Shivana Gouda Naik is ahead by 4,893 votes.
• Hebbal (Karnataka) by-poll counting: BJP candidate YA Narayanaswamy is leading by 11,160 votes.
• Bidar (Karnataka) by-poll counting: Congress candidate Rahim Khan is ahead by 3,062 votes.
• Khadoor Sahib (Punjab) by-poll counting: Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Ravinder Singh Brahmpura is leading by 22,128 votes in fifth round.
• Counting of Harlakhi (Bihar) by-poll: RLSP candidate Sudhanshu Shekhar is leading by 2,600 votes
• Maihar (Madhya Pradesh) by-poll: In early trends, BJP's Narayan Tripathi is ahead of Congress' Manish Patel by more than 1,800 votes.
• Khadoor Sahib (Punjab) by-poll: Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Ravinder Singh Brahmpura is leading by 3,489 votes in the first round.
• Counting of votes for by-polls in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar, Deoband and Bikapur will be held today.
• Counting of votes for the Maihar Assembly seat in Madhya Pradesh will take place on Tuesday.
• Counting of votes for the Khadoor Sahib Assembly seat in Punjab would be taken up today.
