Yahoo to terminate Livetext, Games and more

Yahoo announced that it will be soon terminating some of its products. The list includes Yahoo Games,Yahoo Livetext, Yahoo Boss and others.

In a Tumbler post, the tech giant revealed that the decision was taken in order to simplify the business and focus on the customers of seven core consumer products: Mail, Search, Tumblr, News, Sports, Finance and Lifestyle.

The Yahoo Games and publishing channel will shut down on May 13, 2016. The user who have made in-game purchases will now have to seek information from the game publisher to see what options they have for transferring the same. Yahoo ensured that it has asked game publisher to create a transition plan for players in the coming days.

In coming days it is also planning to shut down regional media properties. "We will shut down some of our regional, genre-specific media properties to streamline our editorial offering to focus on our four core content areas: News, Sports, Finance and Lifestyle." Yahoo declares in the post.

Along with this Yahoo is also planing to close the service of Yahoo Astrology in the UK, France, Germany, Spain and India.
