To remain in power in UP, Samajwadi Party raises 'BJP threat' among Muslims, says Asaduddin Owaisi

Lucknow: MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday slammed the ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh and said that it raises the “BJP threat” among the minority community in order to remain in power in the state.

He vowed to dislodge the Akhilesh Yadav government in the state and urged the Dalits and Muslims to join forces in UP for the upcoming assembly polls.

Owaisi said that his party is against communal forces that are “planning to destroy the country's secular fabric”.

He further said that his party is not against any caste or religion.

Owaisi on Saturday visited the Balrampur, Gorakhpur and Siddharthanagar areas of the state and exhorted party workers to work hard for the 2017 polls.

In Gorakhpur, he faced massive protests from Hindu groups who took to the streets and shouted slogans like 'Owaisi go back'.

The situation had turned tense briefly when Hindu groups and Owaisi supporters came face to face and police had to intervene and detain some people.
