Delhi Vs Railways: How Much Money Virat Kohli Will Get From Playing In Ranji Trophy?

After a poor outing in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made it compulsory for all the players to play in the Ranji Trophy.

India’s star batter Virat Kohli made a comeback to the Ranji Trophy after a 12-year break and is playing for Delhi in their final group match against Railways at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. 

Talking about Ranji Trophy players' salary, it depends completely on the number of first-class matches they have played.

Cricketers who have played over 40 first-class games get Rs 60,000 per day, while those with 21–40 matches earn Rs 50,000. 

Players who have played fewer than 20 matches will get Rs 40,000 per match. Non-playing members of the team are paid between Rs 20,000 and Rs 30,000 per day.

Though Virat Kohli has taken part in only 23 Ranji Trophy matches, his 140 first-class appearances ensure his eligibility to get compensation of Rs 60,000 for the Delhi vs Railways game. For a four-day match, Kohli can earn a total of Rs 2,40,000.

Talking about the game, Virat Kohli failed to make an impact with the bat as he got out for just 6 runs off 15 balls.
