Upcoming SUVs In India: The sub-4 meter SUV segment is a highly competitive space with over a dozen SUV models. In this segment, the Tata Nexon and Maruti Brezza dominate the market, while the Mahindra XUV 3XO is also performing well. However, several new SUVs are set to launch in this segment shortly, starting with the Skoda Kylaq and Kia Syros. The prices for the Kylaq have already been announced, while the Syros pricing will be announced soon. Both of these are budget SUVs that will compete with models like the Nexon, Brezza, and XUV in the market.
Upcoming 'Budget' SUVs
Kia Syros: Kia is all set to announce the prices of the Syros on 1st February 2025. This premium sub-4 metre SUV offers best-in-segment cabin space for better comfort. It gets two engine options: a 1.0L petrol and a 1.5L diesel engine, producing 120bhp/172Nm and 116bhp/250Nm, respectively.

Kia Syros: While the 6-speed manual gearbox is standard with both engines, the 7-speed DCT automatic and 6-speed torque convertor automatic transmissions are available with the petrol and diesel variants, respectively.

Kia Syros: It gets several premium features like a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch HD display instrument cluster, automatic AC, an 8-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front and rear seats and 4-way powered driver seats, a wireless phone charger, ADAS Level 2 system with 16 autonomous features, and more.

Skoda Kylaq: Priced between Rs 7.89 lakh to Rs 14.40 lakh (ex-showroom), deliveries for the Skoda Kylaq will begin on 27th January 2024. It comes in four trims – Classic, Signature, Signature+, and Prestige.

Skoda Kylaq: Powered by a 1.0L turbo petrol engine that produces 115bhp and 178Nm, the Kylaq gets two transmission options: a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Skoda claims it can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 10.5 seconds.
