Since the launch of its ‘Safer Cars for India’ program, Global NCAP has tested over 40 made in India vehicles and here are the ten safest vehicles currently on the road with 4 and 5 star rating.

In addition to being a capable off-roader, the Mahindra Thar is also a safe vehicle scoring 4 stars in the crash test conducted by Global NCAP. In terms of adult and child protection, the second-generation off-roader has four stars. The safety score also brought a change to Mahindra Thar lineup, which was reduced to only the models with forward-facing rear seats and the side facing rear seats were removed.  

Volkswagen Polo - 4/5 stars

Volkswagen Polo has scored 4 stars in the crash test despite being the oldest in this list. Polo has previously scored 4 star rating without the airbags and now with the standard safety equipments like air bags and ABS, the car is now safer than ever. In 2021, all Tata Nexon variants come standard with two airbags, ABS and ISOFIX child-seat mounts. Priced between Rs 7.30 lakh and Rs 13.35 lakh for the top model, the diesel-automatic model has two airbags, ABS and ISOFIX child-seat mounts as standard.
