Hansika was part of television shows like Shaka Laka Boom Boom and Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand as a child artist. She also appeared in  Hrithik Roshan's 'Koi Mil Gaya'.

Hansika made her Telugu movie debut with a 2007 film called Desamuduru.

Hansika made her debut in Tamil cinema in 2011 with with Mappillai. In the same year she appeared in the hit films like  Engeyum Kadhal, Velayudham.

The actress has also worked in Malayam film industry, She made her debut with Villain.

Hansika's performance in Telugu film Desamuduru (2007) was much appreciated and she bagged Filmfare's Best Debut Actress for the same.
