The Maharaja Express was launched in 2010 to provide people with a luxurious experience during their train journey. This train has 23 coaches, but only 88 passengers can travel at a time. The Maharaja Express is like a royal hotel running on the tracks, with onboard restaurants, deluxe cabins, junior suites, a lounge bar, and many other facilities. Inside the train, there are LCD TVs, international calling, internet, electronic lockers, wardrobes, and private bathrooms with hot and cold water.

The Maharaja Express has two restaurants, named Mor Mahal and Rang Mahal. In these restaurants, a wide variety of food items, from royal dishes to local, international, continental, and Mewari cuisine, are served. The food is served in utensils plated with 24-carat gold.

The train offers several options like Presidential Suites, Deluxe Cabins, Junior Suites, and Suites. It has bathrooms with showers, bedrooms, minibars, live TV, and many other facilities. The train is equipped with live TV, air conditioning, and large windows for a splendid view of the outside.

This train takes you to iconic places like the Taj Mahal, the Khajuraho Temples, Ranthambhore, and the ghats of Varanasi, among many other special destinations, over eight days. Currently, this train operates on four different routes across the country. You can choose your preferred route. The train is operated by IRCTC.

If royal facilities are provided, the fare will also be higher. The fare depends on the train's route and cabin class. For the Delhi-Agra-Ranthambore-Jaipur-Delhi route, the cheapest ticket on the Maharaja Express is for the adult single supplement deluxe cabin, for which you will have to pay Rs 4,28,750. Additionally, for a junior suite, the fare is Rs 463,750; for a suite, the fare is Rs 700,000; and for a presidential suite, the fare is Rs 1,190,000.

Similarly, on the Delhi-Jaipur-Ranthambore-Fatehpur Sikri-Agra-Khajuraho-Varanasi-Delhi route, the fare for a deluxe cabin is Rs 6,82,500, for a junior suite, it is Rs 8,75,000, for a suite, it is Rs 12,68,750, and for a presidential suite, it is Rs 21,87,500. The fare varies on different routes.
