'Faster Smoother Swankier': Delhi-Mumbai Vande Bharat Sleeper Coming Soon
The new Vande Bharat Sleeper train is set to reduce the Delhi-Mumbai journey to 12 hours, compared to the 15-20 hours taken by most express trains. This luxurious train will feature 16 coaches and 823 seats, offering enhanced comfort and efficiency.
The Vande Bharat fully AC sleeper train will cover a distance of around 1,384km between Delhi and Mumbai in just 12 hours if the Indian Railways rolls out the train on this route. Currently, trains between the two stations take between 15 and 20 hours.
The introduction of the Vande Bharat sleeper will significantly reduce travel time for passengers. With a maximum speed of 160 km/h, the Vande Bharat sleeper promises a major improvement in efficiency.
Currently, the chaircar version of the Vande Bharat Express has 8 coaches with a total of 530 seats. In contrast, the new Vande Bharat Sleeper version will feature 16 coaches and accommodate 823 passengers. This sleeper train is expected to operate on routes covering from 800 km to 1,200 km. In addition to the Delhi-Mumbai route, it is also likely to run on the Delhi-Patna route, which is one of the busiest and most in-demand corridors.
Reportedly, this train will serve as an alternative to the Rajdhani Express and currently, the Rajdhani Express runs between Mumbai and Delhi in about 16 hours, but in the future, the Vande Bharat Sleeper train is expected to complete the journey in 12 hours.
This new sleeper train is expected to cover the stations like Kota, Ratlam, Vadodara or Surat in its 12 hours of journey.
