BJP exploring all options to form government in Karnataka

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership is going all out to ensure that it forms the government in Karnataka. BJP Karnataka chief ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa and Human Resources Development Minister Prakash Javadekar have claimed that they will be able to give a stable government in Karnataka after the party emerged as the single largest party in the state Assembly with 104 seats.

Elections for 222 seats in Karnataka was held on May 12. A record 72.36 percent of the 5.07 crore electorate cast their votes. Results were declared on May 15.

Congress Lingayat MLAs upset over ties with JDS

Sources say seven-eight Lingayat MLAs of the Congress are protesting against the alliance. They have told the Congress leadership that they do not want JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy as Karnataka chief minister.
