Green tea might help tackle COVID: Indian-origin researcher

Gallocatechin, which is present in green tea can give rise to a drug capable of tackling COVID-19 There now needs to be further investigation to show if it can be proven clinically effective

Nirmala Sitharaman responds to Mamata Banerjee’s letter on COVID-19 tax

Currently, domestic supplies and commercial imports of vaccines attract a 5 percent Goods and Services Tax (GST), while it is 12 percent in the case of COVID drugs and oxygen concentrators. She further said that if Integrated GST (IGST) Rs 100 is collected on an item, Rs 50 accrues to the Centre and the States each as Central GST and State GST respectively. From the GST collected on vaccines, half is earned by the Centre and the other half by the States.
