Budget 2022: Need to support incomes for consumption push, says Crisil

Crisil Research pointed out that the past few budgets have emphasised the government's intent to drive potential growth. The growth was fueled by leaning on a mix of capex and reforms. Crisil Research said Centre can create an additional fiscal space of Rs 35 lakh crore over fiscals 2022-2026.

Adding over 78,000 petrol pumps is uneconomical, says Crisil

The three public sector oil marketing firms - Indian Oil Corp (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL) - in November last year advertised to open 78,493 more petrol pumps in the country. This on top of 64,624 fuel retail outlets currently operating in the country.

'Airlines expected to post Rs 81 bn operating profit in 2016'

Domestic carriers are expected to post an operating profit of Rs 81 billion in fiscal 2016, a complete "U-turn" from the Rs 15 billion loss posted in fiscal 2014, rating agency Crisil Research said in a report.
