In a big decision, Reserve Bank Of India today stopped the circulation of Rs 2,000 currency notes. The big decision on the Rs 2,000 currency note doesn't mean that it will stop the notes validation. The notes can be used in the formal manner, howerver, the currency holder will need to exchange them on or before 30th September, 2023.

Long queues, chaos continue at ATMs even as banks pump in cash

As ATMs opened on Friday, nearly 48 hours post Prime Minister Narendra Modi`s announcement that 500 and 1000 rupees notes will no longer be legal tender, long queues were witnessed outside the ATMs across the nation as people thronged to get new currency notes in lieu of the demonetised currency.
