Tamil Nadu reports first death from Delta Plus variant

"After the death of the Madurai patient, the samples were collected, which confirmed that it was 'Delta Plus' variant," Minister for Medical and Family Welfare Ma Subramanian said. On Friday, the Centre informed that 51 cases of the Delta Plus variant of coronavirus have been detected in 45,000 samples sequenced so far in the country. One in Maharashtra and two in Madhya Pradesh have also succumbed to the new COVID-19 mutant.

Madhya Pradesh: A woman succumbs to the Delta Plus variant of COVID-19 in Ujjain

The first death related to the Delta Plus variant of the Coronavirus has been reported in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday. Samples taken from a deceased COVID patient in Ujjain showed that she was infected with the delta plus variant. A total of five confirmed cases of the Delta Plus variant have been reported in Madhya Pradesh so far.
