Minister said India was on track to achieve its merchandise exports target of $400 billion this year, while services exports were likely to be about $240 billion to $250 billion. Twitter appoints interim Chief Compliance Officer for India
The Government had issued a notice to Twitter giving it one last chance to "immediately" comply with the new IT rules and warned that failure to adhere to the norms will lead to the platform losing exemption from liability under the IT Act. An interim Chief Compliance Officer has been retained and details will be shared with the Ministry directly soon, the spokesperson added. As per the rules, significant social media intermediaries -- those with over 50 lakh users -- are required to appoint a grievance officer, a nodal officer and a chief compliance officer.

Govt asks social media platforms to remove content mentioning 'Indian variant'
Digital platforms said they have received the latest advisory. A notice issued in this regard by the IT ministry states that a "false statement" is being circulated online that implies that an 'Indian variant' of coronavirus is spreading across the countries. The social media platforms have been asked to "remove all the content that names, refers to, or implies 'Indian variant' of coronavirus from your platform immediately".
