Zelensky says situation in some places tough, fires top officials- Key points
Zelensky said that the situation in the south and the Donbas region remained extremely difficult and reiterated that Russia was building up forces near the besieged city of Mariupol. Ukrainian President said that he had sacked two senior members of the national security service on the grounds they were traitors. Ukrainian state nuclear company said that all of the Russian forces occupying the Chernobyl nuclear power station had withdrawn from the territory of the defunct plant.

Russian missile strikes continue in Chernihiv, claims UK military intelligence
Russian forces continue to hold positions to the east and west of Kyiv despite the withdrawal of a limited number of units. Heavy fighting will likely take place in the suburbs of the city in coming days, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.

Ukraine confirms partial withdrawal of Russian troops from Kiev, Chernihiv
Russian forces may renew their offensive against Kiev and Chernihiv after replenishing the units that suffered the biggest losses in the battles, said Motuzyanyk. Zelensky said that the Ukrainian forces are preparing for new Russian attacks in the east of the country as Moscow builds up its troops there after suffering setbacks. The leader of the Donetsk People`s Republic, Denis Pushilin, said that offensive operations were intensifying.
