Inter-state movement of goods beyond 10 kms, with a value of Rs 50,000 and above, will mandatorily require e-way bill from February 1.

GST Council clears e-way bill mechanism; to be rolled out by June 1

The 24th meeting of the GST Council was held through video conferencing. The e- way bill system will be ready to be rolled out on a trial basis latest by January 16, 2018. This will bring uniformity across the states for seamless inter-state movement of goods.
