Health Ministry spokesman Luv Agarwal said in a press conference that the cases of corona has been steadily decreasing in the country for 20 days. He told that in 22 states of the country, the number of people recovering are more than newly reported cases.

FinMin: Rs 35k crore budgeted demand for grant used by Centre to pay for vax
The clarification came over reports that suggested that the entire grant provided in the budget was meant for transfers to states with the Centre having no funds to go buy vaccines on its own. Also, this grant is exempted from the quarterly expenditure control restrictions applicable to other demands. This helps to ensure that there is no hindrance in the vaccination programme. The amount provided under this head for vaccinations is actually operated by the Ministry of Health.

Over 7 crore Indians given COVID-19 vaccination, says Health Ministry
So far, 1,23,03,131 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the country, according to a provisional report till 7 pm on Friday. A total of 11,83,917 people aged 45 and above were given the first dose on April 2. The countrywide vaccination drive was rolled out on January 16 with healthcare workers getting inoculated and vaccination of frontline workers started from February 2.

Govt's corona helpdesk chatbot on Whatsapp surpasses 3 cr users in India
The official WhatsApp chatbot by the Ministry of Health and MyGov, developed by artificial intelligence-focussed start-up Haptik, was made available to all WhatsApp users for free in English and Hindi languages. To contact the helpline, citizens were required to save the WhatsApp number +91 9013151515 on their phones, and then start a chat by typing "Hi" and sending it to the number. Depending on the question, users were provided verified and real-time information in the form of a video, infographic or text.
