TMC has stormed to power in 102 of the 108 municipalities of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee-led party has bagged 63.45% of the total votes polled. BJP could only win 63 of the 2170 wards.

WB Municipal Polls: TMC decimates opposition, wins 93 of 107 municipalities
The CPI (M)-led Left Front won Taherpur Municipality in Nadia district. The BJP and the Congress are yet to win a civic body, although the parties have won a few wards in some towns. The TMC has already won 93 municipalities and is leading in seven others.

After panchayats, Haryana sets educational qualification for municipal polls
Haryana Cabinet has decided to amend Section 13 A of Haryana Municipal Act 1973 and Section 8 of Haryana Municipal Corporation Act 1994 to make minimum educational qualification compulsory for aspirant of contesting local body polls on the lines of Panchayat polls.
