Nirbhaya's mother breaks down, says 'losing faith in court, legal procedures'

The parents of Nirbhaya and the Delhi government had moved the court on February 11 seeking fresh death warrants for the four convicts after the Supreme Court granted liberty to the authorities to approach the trial court for issuance of fresh date for the execution of these convicts.

Nirbhaya case: SC dismisses plea of Pawan claiming he was minor during crime

The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday dismissed the Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by Nirbhaya gangrape and murder case convict Pawan Kumar Gupta claiming that he was a juvenile at the time of crime--December 16, 2012. He also said that this fact was not taken into account by Delhi High Court during the proceedings in the case. The apex court did not find any fresh ground in the matter and so dismissed the plea.

Will be content after death sentence is issued: Nirbhaya's parents

Speaking to the media, Nirbhaya's father said, "We are still not fully satisfied. Until a death warrant is issued by Patiala House Court, we will not be content." Meanwhile, her mother said, "I am very happy. We struggled for seven years and have now gone a step further."
