Millions of Indians living near airports may not get to enjoy 5G in 2023
Industry experts believe that consumers who live in the proximity of airports are not likely to get 5G on their devices. DoT asks telecom companies not to install 5G base station within 2.1 km range of Indian airports. 5G wireless networks roll out across the world, pilots in the US also reported frequent problems with the aircraft`s radio (radar) altimeters.

Private telcos to hike tariffs in H2; FY23 revenues to jump by a fourth
A growth in average revenue per user is essential for the industry to invest in the network and spectrum. Last fiscal, there was a fall in the overall number of subscribers as 3.70 crore inactive users were weeded out. The three top telcos witnessed a 3 per cent rise in the number of active users.

TRAI took a strong note of telecom service companies not providing outgoing SMS facility in certain prepaid vouchers. TRAI said in the recent past it has received complaints from subscribers over their inability to send SMS on short code 1900 specified for UPC (Unique Porting Code) generation.
