Eventually, Hasan Mahmud broke the stubborn partnership late in the session, clean-bowling Roach for a well-made 47. However, Greaves continued his fine innings, reaching his maiden Test ton amidst applause from teammates and spectators.

West Indies added 79 runs in 29 overs during the session, with Greaves and Kemar Roach frustrating the Bangladeshi bowlers early on. The pair showed grit and determination, defying the visitors' attack. Bangladesh missed a crucial chance to dismiss Greaves when he edged a delivery from Taskin Ahmed to the keeper, but neither the fielders nor the bowler appealed, letting the opportunity slip.

Hasan Mahmud made an impact straight away, striking in the very first over to dismiss Joshua Da Silva and following it up with Alzarri Joseph’s wicket soon after. This sparked hopes for the visitors to keep the Windies under 300. However, Justin Greaves had other plans. Starting cautiously, he found the occasional boundary to keep the scoreboard moving, with Kemar Roach providing steady support at the other end.

Kraigg Brathwaite, the captain of West Indies says that they would have bowled first as well with some moisture on the pitch but it could get hard to bat on later in the game. Adds that the guys have played in the Super50 and they are in good spirits. Mentions that they have had a lot of success with pacers here and that is why they are going with four seamers. Ends by saying that getting to a good start will be crucial and they need to stick to the plans and get those big hundreds.

Mehidy Hasan, the skipper of Bangladesh says that they are looking to use the weather conditions at the start and put some pressure with the new ball. This sparked hopes for the visitors to keep the Windies under 300. However, Justin Greaves had other plans. Starting cautiously, he found the occasional boundary to keep the scoreboard moving, with Kemar Roach providing steady support at the other end.

PITCH REPORT!

Kraigg Brathwaite, the captain of West Indies says that they would have bowled first as well with some moisture on the pitch but it could get hard to bat on later in the game. Adds that the guys have played in the Super50 and they are in good spirits. Mentions that they have had a lot of success with pacers here and that is why they are going with four seamers. Ends by saying that getting to a good start will be crucial and they need to stick to the plans and get those big hundreds.

Mehidy Hasan, the skipper of Bangladesh says that they are looking to use the weather conditions at the start and put some pressure with the new ball. He further mentions that the team has been on a bit of a roller coaster but they are going to start the series with confidence and hopefully things will fall into places for them.
