Windsor Vs Nexon Vs Punch EV Sales: MG’s electric MPV registered sales of 502 units in September, 3,116 units in October, 3,144 units in November, 3,785 units in December 2024, and 3,450 units in January 2025, totaling 13,997 units during the last five months. In contrast, during the same period, Nexon EV and Punch EV retailed 7,047 units and 5,708 units, respectively.

Tata And MG Market Share In EV Space: However, as models like Curvv EV, Tigor EV, and Tiago EV also contribute some volume to Tata's overall EV sales, it still holds the majority market share in the EV space at 45% but the MG managed to narrow the gap significantly standing at 37%, Autocar professional reported.

Tata & MG EV Sales In January 2025: The extensive range of EVs gives an edge to Tata Motors over MG Motor in overall sales. While Tata Motors sold 5,037 units of EVs in January 2025, JSW MG Motor India retailed 4,225 units, just 812 units behind Tata.

What Worked For MG And Windsor EV: MG Motor has bold plans for EVs in India and in line with that the company expanded its EV lineup to three models - ZS EV, Comet EV, and newly launched Windsor EV, which became an instant hit. The competitive pricing, BaaS rental scheme, cabin comfort, features, and lifetime warranty for the battery with unlimited kilometers (applicable only to the limited buyers) contributed to its success, taking MG closer to Tata Motors in terms of market share.

MG Windsor EV: It comes with a 38kWh LFP battery coupled with a front axle-mounted electric motor that produces 136bhp and 200Nm. MG claims it offers a range of 331km on a single full charge. With battery rental service (Baas), MG Windsor EV ranges between Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
